Legendary Magic Duo Penn & Teller Celebrate Milestone With Street Renaming at Rio Las Vegas

Celebrating 50 years together, Rio Las Vegas headliners Penn & Teller have redefined magic with their mix of comedy, illusion and skepticism.

South Valley View Boulevard and the former West Viking Road is now Penn & Teller Court, honoring the legendary and award-winning performers’ 50th anniversary performing together on stage and their upcoming 25th anniversary at the resort west of the Las Vegas Strip.

Penn & Teller were joined by Rio Las Vegas President and CEO Patrick Millier and Rio Rita to unveil the newly renamed street. The celebration included a grand entrance on a branded double-decker bus, a custom cake from Freed’s Bakery and a tribute to the duo’s enduring impact on Las Vegas entertainment.

Clark County Commissioner Justin Jones was also in attendance on Thursday, Oct. 16, and presented a proclamation commemorating the occasion, recognizing Penn & Teller’s decades-long contribution to the city’s entertainment legacy and landscape.

“For five decades, Penn & Teller have captivated audiences around the world, and for nearly 25 years, they have called Rio home,” said Miller. “This street naming represents more than a milestone. It is a lasting reminder of their incredible partnership and the magic they’ve brought to generations of fans.”

Celebrating 50 years together, Penn & Teller have redefined magic with their mix of comedy, illusion and skepticism. From busking in Philadelphia to sold-out Broadway runs and a record-breaking Las Vegas residency at Rio Las Vegas, they remain one of the most iconic acts in entertainment.

Their hit series “Penn & Teller: Fool Us!” is the longest-running magic show on television, and their work includes Emmy-winning specials, the BAFTA-nominated documentary “Tim’s Vermeer and appearances” on “The Simpsons,” “Friends” and “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon.”

Honored with the Academy of Magical Arts’ Masters Fellowship in 2024, Penn & Teller have also raised millions for charities including Aid for AIDS Nevada, Opportunity Village and the American Red Cross, all while continuing to push the boundaries of magic and comedy.
