Taco Time! I Love Margaritas! Mask On! Pants Off! It was love at first bite and site at Taco Escobar, which opened July 10 on East Fremont Street.
It was love at first bite and site at Taco Escobar, which opened July 10 on East Fremont Street in Downtown Las Vegas flanked by The Griffin and Sorry Not Sorry Creamery and across Fremont Street from Evel Pie.
Dinner at Taco Escobar six days after opening was a resounding success. The camaron (shrimp), carne asada, mushroom carnitas and quesabirria tacos and mulitas (think overstuffed quesadilla) were shared and thoroughly enjoyed.
The Escobar Margarita (think Cadillac Margarita) and Jalapeño Business Margarita were refreshing and pretty. Next time, we’ll order the sweet corn esquite and tres leches cup since we were too full this time around, along with frozen margaritas, which weren’t up and running yet.
I love the name and fun and extensive decor in honor of legendary Mexican Luchador Taco Escobar, from the front entrance and bar and dining areas to the hallway, restrooms and communal wash area, as well as projected onto the walls.
Also appreciated: The reasonable pricing of tacos (~$4) and margaritas (~$10), so definitely off the Strip. Dining companion Charles Chareunsy’s review of his standout carne asada tacos and mulitas: “Money!”
