AREA15 Surpasses 15 Million Visitors, Preps for Aug. 14 Expansion Premiere

AREA15 is the purpose-built destination for experiential attractions, art and entertainment parallel to and west of the Las Vegas Strip.

AREA15, the purpose-built destination for experiential attractions, art and entertainment parallel to and west of the Las Vegas Strip, has surpassed 15 million visitors since opening in 2020.

The milestone comes as the 40-acre destination readies a transformation featuring the launch of Universal Horror Unleashed on Aug. 14, the first of several new attractions coming to the Area15 District with the opening of its expansion dubbed Zone 2 – The Terminals at AREA15.

Coinciding with the opening of Universal Destinations & Experiences’ first year-round, immersive horror experience, AREA15 will unveil dozens of newly installed sculptures and murals.

With these additions, the AREA15 District will feature more than 60 sculptures and 30 murals, making it one of the largest permanent installations of monumental festival art in the world.

Through the end of 2025 and into 2026, AREA15 will continue to debut attractions, including a fully installed Boeing 747, reimagined as a multi-use event and nightlife venue.

Additional openings include Dolls Kill’s flagship store, The Escape Game, Felix & Paul Studios’ Interstellar Arc, iFLY Indoor Skydiving and the largest-ever Museum of Ice Cream.

AREA15 is expanding in Las Vegas.

The expanded district’s food and beverage lineup will feature Chilango’s Tacos, Saint Honoré Doughnuts & Beignets, Nacho Daddy and more.

“Welcoming 15 million guests in under five years is an incredible milestone for AREA15,” AREA15 CEO Winston Fisher said. “With the launch of Zone 2: The Terminals, we’re doubling down on what makes AREA15 unique and bringing even more world-class art, immersive experiences, food and beverage options to both locals and visitors alike.”

The expansion solidifies AREA15’s evolution from a single, 200,000-square-foot venue to a next-generation, 40-acre “retailtainment” district housing attractions, entertainment brands, culinary destinations, art, nightlife offerings and more.

Guests visiting the AREA15 District will be able to travel between zones aboard the Grounded Intra-district Tram, which will transport visitors from the new Zone 2 parking garage in the north part of the district to AREA15’s LIFTOFF panoramic skyline ride and outdoor lounge toward the south.

In addition to Universal Horror Unleashed, AREA15’s expansion will include art, bars, eateries and activities on Aug. 14. The Midway Bar and Carousel Bar will offer guests places to sip and socialize, while Game Depot and Gateway Plaza Games will bring interactive entertainment to the district’s outdoor plaza.

Visitors can explore new culinary and shopping options, including The Beast Mobile Food Trailer, an additional food truck and two new retail kiosks. Additionally, a self-guided art tour will invite guests to discover newly installed sculptures and murals.

To commemorate the 15 million visitor milestone, AREA15 is offering guests a limited-time promotion: Level 1 Experience Passes for $15 when purchased online using the code “FIFTEEN at checkout. This offer is valid through Wednesday, Aug. 13, and provides access to nine of AREA15’s attractions and experiences.
