Carín León, the first Latin artist to headline Sphere Vegas, delighted tens of thousands of fans during a two-hour show that traced his career across 26 songs.

Mexican superstar Carín León closed out the first weekend of his historic seven-show residency “De Sonora para el Mundo” on Sunday, Sept. 6, at Sphere Vegas on the Las Vegas Strip. Playing to sold-out crowds all three nights, the four-time Latin Grammy winner transported Hermosillo, Sonora, into the Nevada desert through an immersive production backed by 70 crew members and 26 musicians.
“I still can’t believe it; what a crazy night yesterday was. Dreams come true – long live Mexico, and up with Hermosillo!” León shared on social media post-debut. Fans kicked off the journey into the heart of Sonora through an interactive video game experience that had audiences buzzing.
From there, the audience soared over Hermosillo’s historic center, caught glimpses of Cerro de la Campana and the traditional chapayeca masks woven into the desert imagery, wound through the streets where the artist grew up and arrived at the city’s Metropolitan Cathedral. With a sunset over Hermosillo behind him, León took the stage: “De Sonora para el mundo” (“From Sonora to the world”).

The night opened with “A Través del Vaso,” and favorites followed including “Que Vuelvas,” “El Tóxico,” “She Hurts Like Tequila,” “Colmillo de Leche” and “Primera Cita.”
Carín brought out guests including country star Cody Johnson, norteño and banda staples Jorge Medina and Intocable, rockers The Warning and pop songstress Kany García. León’s takeover extends beyond Sphere with pop-ups across the city. At The Venetian, home to Sphere, fans can pick up residency merchandise.
At Fontainebleau Las Vegas, fans can mark the occasion and capture their own piece of the moment at photo installations throughout the resort. No León and Sonora experience would be complete without the state’s gastronomy, so the singer brought his own taquería, El Coyote del Norte, to a pop-up at Fontainbleau.
León’s Sphere residency continues on Thursday, Sept. 10, with four more sold-out shows, ending on Sunday, Sept. 13. León at Sphere sets a new standard for live Spanish-language music in the U.S. and cements his status as a pioneer opening the door for Spanish-language music across the globe.
