Global Música Mexicana star Carín León has received two nominations for the 2026 Latin Grammy Awards. León is nominated for Album of the Year for “Muda” and Record of the Year for “Desde Que Te Tengo.” The singer arrives at the 27th Latin Grammys with “Muda,” a project in which the Hermosillo, Sonora, native captures the experience of shedding skin – an artistic reinvention and evolution.

The four-time Latin Grammy winner on “Muda” pushes past the limits of Contemporary Música Mexicana, broadening his musical palette with pop, big band, ska, blues, salsa, funk and traditional Mexican music, delivering one of his boldest and most eclectic works to date.

“Desde Que Te Tengo” is “Muda’s” opening track – a delicate pop ballad woven with Mexican textures that, from a place of gratitude, tells the story of the fortune of having found true love. Its romantic verses and León’s tender delivery resonated deeply with fans across social media, and the preview generated more than 360,000 TikTok creations ahead of the song’s release.

León just closed out his historic Sphere residency in Las Vegas, making him the first Latin artist to perform at the venue. With multiple sold-out nights and fans traveling from around the world, the shows cemented León as one of the most influential artists in global Latin music.

León’s arrival at Sphere set a new standard for live Spanish-language music in the U.S., establishing him as a pioneer who has opened the doors for Spanish-language music on the global stage and as one of the most influential voices in Latin music in the U.S. market.

The singer returns to Sphere in 2027 for his second residency. Produced by AEG, the residency includes three confirmed shows on Sept. 16-18. General on-sale begins Thursday, Sept. 17, at 10 a.m. PT via CarinLeonLive.com. On Monday, León confirmed his participation in Stagecoach next April 2027.

He joins Garth Brooks, Kelly Clarkson, Matchbox Twenty, Florida Georgia Line, Zach Top, Riley Green, Journey and more. This is León’s second appearance at the Indio, Calif., country music festival; he made his debut in 2024. That year, León made history as the first Latin artist to perform at Stagecoach and Coachella.
