There was a quick and touching tribute to the late Betty White, who was the last of the four Emmy Award-winning “Golden Girls” to pass away at age 99 on Dec. 31, 2021.

More: ‘Golden Girls: The Laughs Continue’ at Westgate Las Vegas on June 27 for Two Shows
Thank you for being a friend! Saturday night with Tommy Bassett at Westgate Las Vegas east of the Las Vegas Strip:
Murray & Peter Present “Golden Girls: The Laughs Continue” in the iconic and main International Theater where Elvis Presley headlined for a record number of years before being surpassed by current headliner Barry Manilow.
The trip down memory lane during the 7 p.m. performance that I absolutely enjoyed (there was a 2 p.m. show, as well):
- A hilariously dirty two-hour show (plus a 15-minute intermission) kicked off by original vocalist Cindy Fee singing “Thank You for Being a Friend”
- A Blanche who reminded me of Patrick Swayze in “To Wong Foo, Thanks for Everything, Julie Newmar” (it’s a compliment)
- A Rose who reminded me of Jennifer Coolidge (it’s a compliment) – I’m taking the dog, dumbass
- Loud boos for (poor) Stanley Zbornak, who also performed as Burt Reynolds (not that Burt Reynolds)
- References to many iconic lines, episodes and Burt Reynolds – there are so many of them
- Very funny breaks from the script and ad libs
- A quick and touching tribute to the late Betty White, who was the last of the four Emmy Award-winning “Golden Girls” to pass away at age 99 on Dec. 31, 2021
- Much love for the LGBTQ+ fans and community
- A fun meet-and-greet onstage post-show, where the onstage photographer took dozens of photos (options!)
- And set pieces and costumes from NBC’s “The Golden Girls” in Westgate’s main lobby

The talented and successful Murray & Peter are the team behind the “RuPaul’s Drag Race” live touring shows. Cheesecake, anyone?
In unrelated news: Eat dirt and die, trash!
P.S. This forever “Golden Girls” fan has the entire series on DVD. RIP, ladies.
