Standing next to each other personally and professionally for more than 30 years, Mewes and Smith have played Jay and Silent Bob in eight movies. But at their Jay and Silent Bob live show, Smith and Mewes get to be themselves using their mouths on you for money, telling tales about making movies, marrying above their stations and being dads while struggling to maintain their dwindling relevance.
Perhaps best known as Jay, the foul-mouthed foil to hetero-lifemate Silent Bob in Kevin Smith’s “View Askewnivere,” Mewes has become an icon since his debut in 1994’s “Clerks.” His character would become a James Bond of the mid-1990s low-budget film – a fast talking, oversexed, but ultimately harmless and likeable guy.

Outside his work with Smith, Mewes’ resume includes “The Last Godfather” with Harvey Keitel” and TV shows including “Supergirl” and “Flash.” His directorial debut “Madness in the Method” features many celebrities, including the only and only Stan Lee.
Mewes streams his virtual video gaming escapades on Twitch, appearing alongside Smith in the live podcast “Jay and Silent Bob Get Old”and telling the tumultuous tales of his absurdly unique life in his solo show “Jay Mewes and His A-Mewes-ing Stories.”

Smith has been saying silly cinematic things since 1994’s “Clerks.” He almost died of a massive heart attack in 2018 but then lived to make more useless media that only he loves. 2024 marks the 30th year since the last time he had a real job. He also convinced someone to marry him and make him a dad.
