The Down North Pizza x Maroon pop-up will kick off a new series of events at Maroon, with Onwuachi creating a platform to celebrate and uplift black chefs.
Philadelphia favorite Down North Pizza is heading west for a one-night-only collaboration with James Beard Award-winning Chef Kwame Onwuachi at his celebrated new Caribbean steakhouse Maroon at Sahara Las Vegas on the Las Vegas Strip on Thursday, Aug. 27, beginning at 4 p.m. in the bar and lounge.
Down North Pizza will serve up an exclusive menu created especially for the occasion featuring two of its signature pies, Lamb Sausage and Margherita, alongside an exclusive pie crafted in collaboration between Down North Pizza’s Chef Muhammad Abdul-Hadi and Onwuachi.
Quantities are limited for this inaugural pop-up culinary experience, and Down North Pizza selections will be served on a first-come, first-served basis until sold out at Maroon at Sahara Las Vegas, which celebrated its grand opening in April to much fanfare.

The Down North Pizza x Maroon pop-up will kick off a new series of events at Maroon, with Onwuachi creating a platform to celebrate and uplift black chefs from across the country. Shockingly, Onwuachi is the first black chef to have a restaurant on the Las Vegas Strip.
The pop-up culinary series will bring standout F&B industry talent to Las Vegas, giving guests the opportunity to experience their food, stories and unique perspectives firsthand in The Entertainment Capital of the World. Additional details will be announced soon.
