The Irish Spot Brings New Life to Beloved Former Las Vegas Pub on East Tropicana

The Irish Spot Brings New Life to Beloved Former Las Vegas Pub on East Tropicana

“From our house-made sausage to our Fish & Chips and traditional pub favorites, we’re focused on quality ingredients and dishes that people will want to come back for.”

The Irish Spot, at 1350 E. Tropicana Ave., is bringing fresh energy to a familiar Las Vegas address while honoring the legacy of the former Crown & Anchor. Designed as a true “bar for the people,” the concept mixes Irish-inspired comfort food, a curated beer program and a lively, community-focused atmosphere.

The concept draws inspiration from Managing Partner Ryan Whelan’s Irish heritage and Irish pub culture emphasizing hospitality, conversation and community. With ties to the neighborhood and a connection to local sports, the bar is positioned as a go-to destination for watching sports, including European football, hurling and Gaelic football, continuing a longstanding tradition from the previous concept.

“We’ve always believed this place is bigger than us; it belongs to the community,” said Managing Partner Kelcie Alder. “Our goal with The Irish Spot is to honor what people loved about the bar while evolving it into something that feels fresh, welcoming and exciting for everyone who walks through the door.”

The menu highlights Irish food with elevated touches – pub classics and shareables. Starters and bar bites include the sausage roll with pork sausage baked in flaky puff pastry ($14); Shepherd’s Fries with hand-cut chips, cheese and shepherd’s pie filling ($15); battered sausage, beer battered and fried ($15); and wings available in flavors including mild, hot, BBQ and lemon pepper.

Additional dishes include Fish & Chips made with beer-battered cod or haddock and served with chips and mushy peas ($19), and Bangers & Mash made with pork sausages, mashed potatoes, peas and gravy ($16).

Handhelds include Sloppy Irishman with shepherd’s pie filling, cheese and onion on a brioche bun ($16); beef smash burger with two beef patties, cheese, lettuce, onion, tomato and house sauce ($16); chicken burger with grilled or fried (+$2) chicken breast, lettuce, tomato and mayonnaise ($14); and the Toastie with ham, cheese and tomato on toasted white bread ($13).

“We put a lot of emphasis on making things from scratch and doing them the right way,” said Whelan. “From our house-made sausage to our Fish & Chips and traditional pub favorites, we’re focused on quality ingredients and dishes that people will want to come back for.”

Behind the bar, The Irish Spot emphasizes a  curated beer program featuring Irish favorites such as Guinness, Harp, Kilkenny and Smithwick’s alongside local craft selections, as well as classic cocktails, Irish whiskey and game-day favorites. With 28 beers on tap, the beverage program reinforces the pub’s role as a gathering place for casual nights out and high-energy watch parties.

The space also introduces unique elements designed to deepen its community ties, including a members-only “Snug” for more intimate gatherings, a dog-friendly garden patio and a dedicated Rebel Room (pictured in the main photo) that pays homage to UNLV.

Blending tradition with a modern neighborhood feel, The Irish Spot aims to carry forward the spirit of a Las Vegas staple while creating new memories for the next generation of guests.
