The OG is officially back! Congratulations to James Beard Award winner Saipin Chutima, her daughter Penny Chua and their family and team on the grand reopening of the first Lotus of Siam on Sahara Avenue east of the Las Vegas Strip.
With Jude Nazareth at the ribbon-cutting ceremony the midafternoon of Thursday, June 4, at Commercial Center east of the Las Vegas Strip: Clark County Commissioner Tick Segerblom, Braden McNeil from Sen. Dina Titus’s Office and Damian Costa of the neighboring Composers Room.
Also: my Thai-Lao Instagram brother Angel Khonesavanh, Veronica Mendez, Katie Conway and Kristin Whittimore from Carma Connected, small bites (including lettuce cups of nam kao tod), a cocktail, a mocktail and more.

And BTS dined at Lotus of Siam during their recent four-night, sold-out run at Allegiant Stadium. There are also Lotus of Siam locations on Flamingo Avenue and at Red Rock Resort in Summerlin.
I look forward to returning for dinner at the reimagined Lotus of Siam, which looks nothing like the restaurant I dined at nearly two decades ago. It’s definitely a new chapter for the beloved Thai restaurant. Chon Gâew! Cheers! Salud!
