Now open at Palms Casino Resort in Las Vegas, a 7,300-square-foot, enclosed nonsmoking gaming space is giving guests more ways to play with 200+ new and popular slot games, a full-service bar and Al Vapor Street Tacos food truck.

Palms celebrated the expansion on Tuesday, Sept. 1, beginning with the Spin It Forward IGT Charity Slot Challenge, which resulted in $35,000 to 10 Southern Nevada organizations. Post-challenge, Palms GM Kevin Glass and AGM Laura De La Cruz cut a ribbon opening the gaming space and welcoming the public.

“Guest feedback was a driving force behind this expansion, and it was incredibly rewarding to officially open the doors and see the excitement around the space,” said Glass. “This is about giving our guests more choice and another great way to experience Palms while continuing to invest in what they tell us they want.”

Located near the William Hill Sportsbook in the former Mabel’s BBQ, the space offers a distinct gaming environment separate from the main casino floor. Its game lineup represents nearly a dozen leading gaming manufactures.

Ahead of the grand opening, Las Vegas personalities teamed with 10 organizations for the challenge. Through San Manuel Gaming and Hospitality Authority support, each organization began with a $2,500 donation. The tournament-style slot challenge, presented with IGT, then put $10,000 up for grabs, with every group adding to its donation based on its finish.

Proud to Rescue Benevolent Fund teamed with BMX star Ricardo Laguna (pictured in the main photo) to win, earning $3,000 for a total of $5,500. In total, $35,000 was distributed among Proud to Rescue, Heaven Can Wait Animal Society, S.A.F.E. House, UNLV Chapter of Advancing Indigenous Science & Engineering Society, Southern Nevada Joint Management Culinary & Training Fund, Vegas PBS, The Ability Center; Make-a-Wish Nevada Springs Preserve Foundation and Teach for America Nevada.

The space also features its own full-service bar with beer from local breweries and Al Vapor Street Tacos, a permanent food truck located on the patio of the nonsmoking gaming space.
