The new Asian restaurant’s name Kinzuu is inspired by a Thai expression meaning “let’s eat together,” but with a Japanese twist.

The early afternoon of Monday, July 27, with my brother Charles Chareunsy to kick off the workweek in Southwest Las Vegas:
Congratulations to Sasi Phothidokmai on the ribbon-cutting grand opening of Kinzuu Izakaya at 7395 S. Rainbow Blvd. at Warm Springs in the same strip mall that includes Weera Thai (Phothidokmai is also the owner of the fabulous Weera Thai restaurants in Las Vegas), Sprouts, Wendy’s and more.
The restaurant’s name Kinzuu is inspired by a Thai expression meaning “let’s eat together,” but with a Japanese twist, as the restaurant is a blend of Northeastern Thai (Isan or Issan) and Japanese izakaya cuisines.
At Monday’s ribbon cutting in the heat alongside Phothidokmai and my brother, who took the photographs: Patranya Bhoolsuwan, Stacey Gualandi, Vida Chan Lin, Karina Hon, Lyda Ngin, Catherine Francisco, Ashton Despain, Linh Truong and many more.
Additionally, there were Thai and Japanese dancers (we had lunch with the very nice Japanese dancers Tammy and Yvonne), multiple proclamations from representatives of city and state leaders, the ribbon cutting, an amazing lunch buffet also offered to customers alongside guests and more.
On Saturday, May 30, Tom Bassett, Charles and I had the fortune of dining at Kinzuu Izakaya in a sneak peek, and everything was fantastic – the photos and videos in the reel posted on Facebook and Instagram speak for themselves!
It’s been more than two months, but I remember the delicious Thai and Japanese flavors, sushi, sashimi, meat skewers, papaya salad, steak, dessert and more. I love Kinzuu Izakaya and its cuisine and late-night hours (open until 12 a.m. weekdays and 1 a.m. on weekends).
I enjoy late-dining dining, so I’ll definitely return to Kinzuu Izakaya.
