James Beard Award-winning Chef Kwame Onwuachi was presented with the Key to the Las Vegas Strip by Clark County Commissioner Tick Segerblom during a presentation at Maroon Steakhouse at Sahara Las Vegas on Thursday, Sept. 17, on the Las Vegas Strip.

The honor recognized Onwuachi’s contributions to Las Vegas’ culinary landscape after the opening of Maroon, his Afro-Caribbean steakhouse, at Sahara in April. Segerblom joined Onwuachi outside the restaurant for the presentation celebrating the chef’s growing impact on the city and culinary scene. 

The presentation took place ahead of the sold-out Las Vegas stop of Onwuachi’s nationwide tour celebrating his new cookbook “All Hours: Crazy Good Food for Whatever, Whenever.”

The “All Hours” Dinner at Maroon brought the cookbook to life through a multicourse dining experience featuring dishes inspired by its recipes and showcasing the vibrant flavors, global influences and personal food that define Onwuachi’s cooking.

The sold-out evening gave guests the opportunity to experience the stories and flavors of “All Hours” firsthand alongside Onwuachi, who spent the evening visiting with diners, sharing personal stories behind the cookbook and its dishes, snapping photos and enjoying the celebration with guests.
