Mgna Crrrta put their own spin on Madeon’s “Dancing on Your Grave” with a new remix, out now via Mom+Pop. The collaboration brings together the electronic girl duo Farheen Khan and Ginger Scott with the Grammy-nominated French producer and singer-songwriter whose music played a surprise role in their creative story.
“Dancing On Your Grave” appears on Madeon’s third studio album “Victory” released this year. The album marked a new chapter for Madeon, born Hugo Leclercq, pushing his maximalist electronic sound into the worlds of punk, rock and electro-clash while exploring identity, reinvention and heartbreak.
The new remix finds Mgna Crrrta transforming “Dancing 0n Your Grave” through the lens of their euphoric and gritty electronic world. The track immediately stood out to the duo when Madeon shared “Victory” with them, and their remix amplifies the elements they loved about the original while giving the song a new spin.
“When Madeon sent us ‘Victory,’ we immediately were obsessed with ‘Dancing on Your Grave’ and knew it was the one we wanted to remix,” said Mgna Crrta. “We wanted to amplify everything we loved about the track and add a new perspective to the story. His work is so inspiring to us, and finishing out this year collaborating with Madeon feels like fate.”
For Madeon, “Victory” follows his acclaimed 2015 debut “Adventure” and 2019’s “Good Faith,” which earned a Grammy nod for Best Dance/Electronic Album. Madeon has built a career with electronic music, pop and visual world-building and collaborated with Porter Robinson, Lady Gaga, Coldplay and Ellie Goulding.
Madeon says, “Mgna Crrrta has been making some of the most fun music I’ve heard recently. I was so honored and excited to hear their take on ‘Dancing on Your Grave.’ I love it!! Having them on the tour is gonna be memorable.”
For MGNA Crrrta, the upcoming shows with Madeon bring the story behind “Beautiful Disaster” full circle – from listening to his music to reworking one of his songs and joining him on the road. The Madeon Presents “Victory Live” Tour headlines House of Blues Las Vegas at Mandalay Bay on the Las Vegas Strip on Saturday, Oct. 10. More Madeon: Spotify | Facebook | Instagram | Madeon.net
