Ink Films and The Beverly Theater in Downtown Las Vegas have announced the red-carpet premiere of Don Hertzfeldt’s “Animation Mixtape” on Wednesday, Sept. 18, with celebrated animator and two-time Academy Award nominee Hertzfeldt in attendance to introduce the film and meet with attendees post-screening.

The premiere marks the first official Las Vegas debut of Ink Films, the new theatrical distribution arm of The Beverly Theater, and kicks off a weeklong engagement of “Animation Mixtape” from Sept. 19-24 at The Beverly Theater.

A limited number of tickets for the Sept. 18 premiere are available at TheBeverlyTheater.com. Guests can expect a night with a red-carpet photo opportunity, introduction by Hertzfeldt and a post-show party including drinks and light bites with the filmmaker.

A theatrical-only feature, “Animation Mixtape” is a genre-defying journey through 12 of the most imaginative animated short films from around the world curated by Hertzfeldt. The lineup features underground legends, influential classics and mind-bending contemporary work, most of which hasn’t been widely seen in theaters.

Featured filmmakers include Richard Condie, Bruce Bickford, Wendy Tilby & Amanda Forbis, Mark Baker, Corrinne James, David O’Reilly, Jesse Moynihan, Takeshi Murata & Christopher Rutledge, Maks Rzontkowski, Kasia Nalewajka, Nicolas Ménard and Jonatan Schwenk.

Presented by Ink Films and built for the big screen, “Animation Mixtape” will not be available on streaming platforms. Including its premiere in Las Vegas, the film continues a city-by-city rollout across North America, including stops in New York and Austin.
