I held on to the rail nearly the entire time, but it didn’t derail (see what I did there) my enjoyment. I could hear others having issues, and employees promptly attended to them.

Blastoff! My visiting longtime Asian American Journalists Association and journalist friend Doris Truong and I began the month at the virtual-reality Interstellar Arc at AREA15 west of and parallel to the Las Vegas Strip.
I don’t do well with VR – I have issues with balance and vertigo, plus I’m boring – but Interstellar Arc is astonishing!
The one-hour immersive Interstellar Arc journey is 11 light-years into space and 262 years into the future. Travel to Arcadia (Ross 128b), a real exoplanet discovered in 2017.

The ship is 14 football fields traveling at 12,000 km/second. Emmy winners Felix & Paul Studios created Interstellar Arc. Take photos with your VR helmet (I posted a reel of them on social media), and I look fit in my IA outfit!

Also: I loved that our patronus was a fox | dog (à la Tommy Bassett’s Koda and Loki), and another traveler inadvertently tried to sit on Doris’ lap. Interstellar Arc opened last October.
Post- Interstellar Arc at AREA15, pozole, tacos and chips and salsa (including the inferno-hot habanero) on Taco Tuesday at the 24-hour The Cantina by El Dorado on Sunset. A totally terrific Tuesday in Las Vegas!
