The grand opening of The Evel Knievel Experience at 1001 S. 1st St., in a former linen factory, kitty-corner | catty-corner from The English Hotel.
At the impressive and extensive three-floor The Evel Knievel Experience’s soirée: incredible memorabilia (motorcycles, VR motorcycles + more vehicles, photos, videos, leather jumpsuits, clothing + more), Knievel’s eldest son Kelly Knievel, a fascinating 10-minute film in a small viewing room, Evel Pie pizza, beer (including a great Imperial IPA) and cocktails, little snake charms + more.


Guests included John Katsilometes of the Las Vegas Review-Journal, BMX star Ricardo Laguna and his dancer-choreographer girlfriend Sarah Sutter, writer and author Derek Sante, Erika Pope, Vanessa Thill and Nicole Servellon of Vox Agency and more dressed in red, white + blue.
The Evel Knievel Experience ribbon-cutting and proclamation with Gov. Joe Lombardo, Mayor Shelley Berkley and more was Thursday, June 25, and The Evel Knievel Experience opened to the public on Saturday, June 27.
Fun fact: Legendary American daredevil Knievel and I are connected by Montana (he was born in Butte, and I was raised in the state capital, Helena, from ages 2-18) and Spokane, Wash., (his family moved to Spokane, and I graduated with honors from Gonzaga University in Spokane).
General admission to The Evel Knievel Experience is $35 per person. Discounted admission is available for youth ages 6-12, groups of eight or more, locals and military members. Children ages 5 and younger are admitted free.
