When I moved to Las Vegas in 2008, the OG AYCE Korean BBQ restaurant Hwaro in Chinatown Las Vegas, next to the iconic and beloved Raku, was one of the first restaurants I dined at with my brother Charles Chareunsy, our TV reporter friend Quyen Lovrich (whom I first met in L.A.) and her then-boyfriend turned husband Neil Lovrich.
The food at Hwaro was great – my first experience with AYCE Korean BBQ was in L.A. in 1996, so I wasn’t a rookie – and the decor was non-fussy mom-and-pop café, which is never a negative thing. The food just needs to be great!

A new menu launched on May 22: Premium AYCE for $34.95 and Lunch + Late-Night AYCE for $26.95.
Charles and I dined there six days after the new menu launched, and it was better than ever, from the excellent food to the attentive service, and every booth – it is all-booth seating – was in used the two hours we dined there.
BTS official BTS Army members started arriving at 11 p.m., the final night of BTS’ four-night, sold-out run at Allegiant Stadium.
We ate A LOT! Long live Hwaro! Click here for more.
