“Thirty years is a remarkable milestone, and there’s no better way to celebrate than by giving back to the community that has made The Strat a Las Vegas landmark.”
Thirty years after opening its doors, The Strat Hotel, Casino & Tower is throwing itself and Las Vegas a ’90s-themed bash. On Thursday, April 30, The Strat will celebrate its 30th anniversary with a free concert by Better Than Ezra at poolside venue Swim & Social open to guests and the community alike.
The date carries a double milestone: The Strat first welcomed guests on April 30, 1996, on the Las Vegas Strip and Better Than Ezra’s breakout hit “Good” topped the charts one year earlier on April 29, 1995.
Thirty years later, the rock icons are joining for a celebration that honors Las Vegas locals and visitors. Free tickets are available at TheStrat.com and The Strat box office on a first-come, first-served basis with a limit of two tickets per guest.
“Thirty years is a remarkable milestone, and there’s no better way to celebrate than by giving back to the community that has made The Strat a Las Vegas landmark,” said The Strat Senior VP and GM Skylar Dice. “This concert is our thank you to our guests, locals and everyone who has been part of our story.”

Better Than Ezra rose to fame in the early 1990s out of Baton Rouge, La., and became a voice of the alternative rock era. Alongside “Good,” the Grammy-nominated band’s hits also include “In the Blood,” “Desperately Wanting” and “At the Stars.” Better Than Ezra continues to tour and record.
Doors open at 3 p.m., with DJ Santos and Empire Records setting the stage before the band takes over at 5 p.m. Group packages for a cabana or daybed are available. Cabana packages include 10 concert tickets and a bottle of vodka, gin whiskey or tequila. Daybed packages include four tickets and a bottle of choice.
Guests can book The Strat’s Better Than Ezra Show & Room Package, which includes two GA tickets and 30% off room rates, available for stays from Tuesday, April 28, through Sunday, May 3. Rooms can be reserved at TheStrat.com.
