The Garden Foundation, a nonprofit organization here in Las Vegas, serving adults with disabilities or *different abilities* as they prefer, has founded World Inclusion Day on October 10, for an initiative for a kinder, more inclusive world.
The Garden Foundation wanted to find a way to unite the community by celebrating a national/world holiday of Inclusion, which is accepting, supporting, embracing, encouraging and engaging in differences. Inclusion is not just disabilities but ALL people. We are celebrating our differences, finding commonalities and creating a more kind, inclusive world.
“The Garden Foundation was inspired by my little sister, Lindsay who was born with Down syndrome. I’ve seen firsthand the incredible impact that inclusion and connection of people of different backgrounds, cultures, religions, genders and abilities has made on our community and I want to share that. EVERYONE deserves to feel like they belong. I hope this movement can show that truly we’re all more alike than we are different,” says Taylor Gardner, Founder and CEO of The Garden Foundation.
The Garden Foundation has provided 5 ways to get involved with World Inclusion Day:
- Grab your family, friends, organization or business and start or join a team and help us FUN-draise to help us spread inclusion! Not ready to be a team player?! Make a small donation that can make a BIG IMPACT
- BUY A T-SHIRT and make a statement on World Inclusion Day! Take a pic and tell us what #inclusion means to YOU!
- On 10/10 join us in our #CHOOSETOINCLUDE CHALLENGE! 10 ways in 10 days to show kindness and inclusion!
