We hope to help #endperiodpoverty in Southern Nevada,” says Wendi Schweigart, founder of Project Marilyn. “We are grateful to the support and resources we get from both Alliance For Period Supplies and U by Kotex.”
Project Marilyn provides feminine supplies to those in need with monthly bags containing tampons, pads and hygiene wipes to last thru their menstrual cycle. Since its inception in April 2019, the non-profit has partnered with more than 35 shelters and agencies, such as Communities in Schools, Westcare, Hoving Home, Shine Light, Casa de Luz and the Las Vegas Rescue Mission. In the first quarter of 2021, Project Marilyn, gave out: 4,349 period kits, including 82,969 maxi pads, 8,420 tampons, 21,245 liners and 25,085 wipes.
Each Project Marilyn bag contains enough tampons, maxi pads and wipes to carry a person through their monthly cycle. This method is helpful for those that may be homeless, home insecure or living in a shelter; and are unable to store a large quantity of products.

About Project Marilyn:
Project Marilyn is a nonprofit in Southern Nevada that supplies period products to those in the community who cannot afford them. The organization was started in 2019 after our founder read an article about the homeless period. “What does a homeless person do when they get their period?” The answer would frighten you. Everything from using things like straw with cotton to fast food napkins. They may have products but use them for too long creating serious health issues. Project Marilyn is named after and dedicated to our Founders mother, Marilyn. It is the mission of everyone at Project Marilyn to give people dignity with their period. PERIOD.
Project Marilyn headquarters are located at 6640 W. Cheyenne Ave., Suite 150, Las Vegas, 89108.
