Lovebirds can finish their dinner on a sweet note with Ti Amo Mucho En Fuego, featuring a hollow chocolate skull which is set aflame tableside, melting it to reveal strawberry flan, topped Mexican chocolate sauce and red fruit salsa, priced at $19.
Guests can pair their dinner with El Corazón, a specialty Valentine’s Day cocktail crafted with Flecha Azul Blanco, elderflower, prosecco, lemon, strawberries and cane syrup, priced at $18.
After their meal, couples can venture off to find Wax Rabbit, hidden behind the walls of Mijo. The intimate, dimly lit speakeasy will feature a shot special, where guests who purchase one shot will receive a second shot on the house from 8 p.m. until 10 p.m.
Patrons can also delight in Wax Rabbits cocktails, which pairs the rich flavors of classic libations with Mexico’s finest spirits, highlighting the flavors of expertly curated mezcals and tequilas. Cocktails, which include the Wax Rabbit Old Fashioned, made with Flecha Azul reposado, agave and bitters, served in a skull-shaped glass, will honor Mexico’s rich spirits heritage, while elaborate cocktails will tantalize guests’ taste buds, such as the Hidden Passion, which features Don Julio Reposado, Strega, guava and pineapple, served in a glass shaped after the female figure.
Every night, DJs spin music that spans genres on ‘wax,’ as vinyl records were dubbed during the rise of the underground bar scene in the ‘80s, evoking a sense of nostalgia.
