Opportunity Village revealed the 2024 Las Vegas Great Santa Run medal, which features a keepsake Santa Run logo pin atop a roulette wheel adorned with a sign that reads, “Welcome to the Las Vegas Great Santa Run 2024.” The back of the medal features a special edition Opportunity Village 70th anniversary logo.
The 20th Annual Las Vegas Great Santa Run, hosted by Opportunity Village covers a 5k or 1-mile course in downtown Las Vegas, packed with entertainment.
The event is scheduled for Dec. 7 at the Downtown Las Vegas Events Center, 200 S. 3rd Street, and is presented by Circle K and hosted by Opportunity Village and Fox5 and their Take 5 to Care Partners, Findlay Subaru of Las Vegas and Walker Furniture.
“We can’t wait for this year’s event, and as the pieces come together we’re excited to share them with the Las Vegas Great Santa Run community,” said Bob Brown, President and CEO of Opportunity Village.
To register, visit www.lvsantarun.com. Registration is $35 per participant through September 29, then prices go up to $45. The Las Vegas Great Santa Run is an all-ages event, and children under 3 are free. Pets, strollers, wheelchairs, and walkers are welcome.
This year’s entertainment lineup includes Carnell Johnson, Murray Sawchuck, Chase Brown, the Tony Marques Band, and the OV Elvi.
Throughout Opportunity Village’s 70th anniversary celebration, and every 70th person that registers for the Las Vegas Great Santa Run receives a voucher for one free item at the Santa Run merchandise booth. Lucky registrants can choose from T–shirts, sweatshirts, water bottles, or enamel pins. Las Vegas Great Santa Run participants also earn prizes for fundraising, beginning with a $10 donation. Prizes range from free hot chocolate at The Magical Forest to a two-night staycation at a Station Casinos property.
All proceeds from the event go to support Opportunity Village in its mission to employ, empower, and serve people with intellectual and developmental disabilities in Nevada.
