Oceanside’s Modern Japanese Fine-Dining Concept Celebrates 1 Year Anniversary & the Opening of New Japanese Fried Chicken Concept with an Exclusive Japanese Chef’s Collaboration, the must experience of the season.
Matsu, the celebrated Japanese fine- dining experience by chef William Eick, still considered in its infancy, and located just off South Coast Highway in Oceanside, California, has much to celebrate this month.
The highly acclaimed and multiple award-winning restaurant named the first Fine Dining Restaurant in Oceanside, celebrate a successful first year and the opening of a 2nd restaurant, Naegi, to the delight of its local following.
Sister location Naegi, the fast-casual Japanese fried chicken concept created by Matsu’s executive chef-owner William Eick, started as a food truck pop-up and will now be celebrating one month of business in a new, permanent location at 1902 South Coast Highway on October 7th.
Naegi, open daily from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. brings to life a more playful take on Japanese cuisine by featuring a condensed menu of 5 exceptional Japanese fried chicken “sandos” yet continues to uphold similar values to Matsu with the use of locally sourced ingredients such as the locally made milk bread each sandwich is built on.
Says chef William Eick, “the sandos has been a passion project and without its success, there would not be Matsu, so it is very special and to see it finally become its own brick and mortar, bringing joy to us and our loyal food truck following”.
