In early October of last year, Great Basin Brewing Company was awarded a gold medal at the 2020 Great American Beer Festival (GABF) in the Specialty Berliner-Style Weisse category for their Razzle Fo Shazzle. It was the 16th medal the brewery has won at the GABF, widely regarded as the nation’s most prestigious beer competition, since 1993.
Razzle Fo Shazzle quickly became a favorite for many with its pink hue, moderately low alcohol and fresh tart raspberry taste. However, shortly after winning the gold medal, the beer ran out at Great Basin’s brewpubs due to the high demand of craft beer fans eager to enjoy it.
All of that is set to change Wednesday, January 13th, as the brewery re-releases Razzle Fo Shazzle on tap at both of its Reno and Sparks brewpubs. Shortly after, on Wednesday, January 20th, the brewery will release the beer in special commemorative 4-pack of 16 oz. cans. The special 4-packs will initially only be available for purchase at the brewery’s Reno and Sparks locations.
“Following what happened in 2020, we wanted to start the New Year with some good vibes and a fun beer,” said Tom Young, Brewmaster, Great Basin Brewing Company. “We incorporated 400 pounds of real raspberries into this Berlin-style kettle soured beer to offer a perfect blend of tart fruit flavor.”
