High Roller Observation Wheel at The LINQ Promenade and the Eiffel Tower at Paris Las Vegas will turn red in honor of World AIDS Day, Tuesday, Dec. 1 beginning at 8 p.m. Year after year, Las Vegas landmarks, in partnership with Aid for AIDS of Nevada (AFAN), turn red to recognize individuals currently living with and affected by HIV/AIDS, as well as those the community has lost to the disease.
Though advances in treatment options continue to prolong and improve lives, at least one person in Southern Nevada is diagnosed with HIV every day. World AIDS Day is not only a day of commemorating the progress made to prevent and treat the disease, but also a reminder there is still more work to be done to eradicate it.
