AFAN’s annual fundraiser to be held at Las Vegas Ballpark on Sunday, April 28
Aid for AIDS of Nevada’s (AFAN) 34th annual AIDS Walk Las Vegas heads to a brand new location, Las Vegas Ballpark, on Sunday, April 28, from 8-11 a.m. Thousands of community members will come together for one of the most significant fundraising events in the state to support the fight against AIDS. Proceeds from the event benefit Southern Nevadans living with and affected by HIV/AIDS.
The pre-walk festival will be graced by hosts Joanna and Sean from iHeart Sunny 106.5. Walkers will be treated to captivating performances and appearances from local favorites including Vegas! The Show, Las Vegas Men’s Chorus, Chippendales, Skye Dee Miles, Jake DuPree from Belle de Nuit, DJ Axis, Las Vegas Kaminari Taiko Drummers, and legendary performers from Gipsy and Piranha.
For an impressive 23rd consecutive year, Vegas headliners and AFAN advocates Penn & Teller will stand as grand marshals, lending their unwavering support to kick off the walk and inspire participants to contribute generously, fostering positive change within the community.
“The AIDS Walk Las Vegas embodies the spirit of unity and compassion that defines our community,” said Antioco Carrillo, executive director of AFAN. “We extend our heartfelt appreciation to every walker, supporter, and partner who joins us at the Las Vegas Ballpark. Together, we reaffirm our commitment to providing vital services and support to those affected by HIV/AIDS in Southern Nevada.”
This year holds special significance as AFAN commemorates 40 years of dedicated service to the community. Funds raised from the walk will bolster AFAN’s extensive array of client support service programs including case management, HIV testing, utility and transportation assistance, among others.
Registration for the walk requires a donation of $30 for adults and $15 for youth. Las Vegas Ballpark extends a warm welcome to furry friends. Attendees are encouraged to complete a pet waiver available on AFAN’s website. For further details on the event and registration, please visit afanlv.org.
