The LGBTQ Center of Southern Nevada will observe World AIDS Day in a unique and heartfelt way this year.
The Center invites the community on Friday, December 1, from 10 am to 4 pm for the “Pieces of Our Heart: A Community AIDS Quilt” event.
This event aims to honor and remember those who have lost their lives to AIDS while fostering a sense of unity and solidarity within the LGBTQ+ community.
The Center invites people to create a community quilt using 12″ x 12″ panels and other supplies. The Center encourages individuals to bring their personal sewing and art skills, along with their supplies, to contribute to the collective effort of commemorating the lives touched by AIDS.
The quilt will serve as a symbol of remembrance, resilience, and unity within the LGBTQ community.
