Access to quality medical services in downtown Las Vegas is hard to find; and access to quality medical care for the LGBTQ community is difficult at best. The Arlene Cooper Health Center will help bridge that gap.
At this event, The Center will unveil the new sign for the Cooper Health Center and acknowledge partners who have paved the way for the Center to soon bring a pharmacy and a federally qualified health center to the neighborhood.
Arlene Cooper was an advocate for the LGBT community. She enjoyed a career working in the nonprofit sector with Golden Rainbow, St. Therese Center, QVegas and The Center and volunteered at Opportunity Village, SNAPI, Sin City Sisters, Imperial Royal Sovereign Court of the Desert Empire, Golden Rainbow, and any other organization that needed or asked for her help. She has received the Heart of the Community Award, Saint Hot ‘N’ Ready, Pride Superstar, Humanitarian Award, Imperial Perfect Princess, Volunteer of the Year Award from The Center and The Dennis and Judy Shepard Family Values Award, just to mention a few of the awards she received during her lifetime.
