Equality Nevada, which shares space at the New LGBTQ Center in Henderson, is co-hosting an event to promote National Coming Out Day and host a grand opening. The open house at the new center will have food, vendors, and a silent auction. Governor Sisolak also issued a proclamation claiming October 11 to be National Coming Out Day in Nevada.
The nonprofit recognizes that our youth are growing up not knowing the important people in history and it is their goal to have the educational curriculum changed in Nevada to include that. Equality Nevada is a non-profit charity and advocacy organization. They fight for civil rights, using all of our resources to secure full equality for the lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender (LGBT) community and advocate achieving fair treatment and equal opportunity for all Nevadans regardless of their sexual orientation, gender identity or expression.
