Hualapai Way And Durango Drive Are Recommended As Alternative Routes For North- And Southbound Traffic
Sidewalk improvements are underway on the east and west side of Fort Apache Road between Desert Inn Road and Charleston Boulevard for the next month. Work hours are 7 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday.
Between the hours of 3 p.m. and 9 a.m., traffic will be generally restricted to two travel lanes in each direction, north- and southbound. Between the hours of 9 a.m. and 3 p.m., traffic will generally be restricted to one lane in each direction, north- and southbound.
Hualapai Way and Durango Drive are recommended as alternative routes for north- and southbound traffic.
The work will consist of removal and replacement of concrete sidewalk ramps that are not compliant with the Americans with Disabilities Act, concrete curb and gutter, and small asphalt patches along Fort Apache.
Mikon Construction is the contractor, and the city of Las Vegas is managing the project. The estimated cost of the project is $500,000, with funding provided by the Southern Nevada Regional Transportation Commission’s Fuel Revenue Indexing tax.
