Legislation has been introduced proposing a financial package to move the A’s to Las Vegas and the Southern Nevada Building Trades Unions (SNBTU) has launched a campaign to support the effort.
The campaign, A+ Jobs, highlights the impact building the stadium will have on its members, allowing SNBTU to expand its roster to put the construction trades to work. The effort hopes to bring awareness and build support for the legislation.

“Vegas has proven itself as a major-league sports town, so it makes sense for us to add a Major League Baseball team,” said Vince Saavedra, Secretary-Treasurer of the Southern Nevada Building Trades Unions. “Our roster of skilled construction workers have always built the biggest projects in Vegas and we’re ready to step up to the plate to build the stadium. By showcasing our members on baseball cards, we are highlighting the impact this project will have on jobs and working families in our community.”
Through the creative and placement, the campaign aims to educate the community about the positive impact building the stadium would have on Las Vegas. The effort would generate more than 5,000 good-paying jobs for a variety of trades such as skilled ironworkers, bricklayers, laborers, electricians and more to build the stadium – all governed by a Project Labor Agreement.
In addition to utilizing the local skilled and trained workforce, the stadium is projected to spur billions in new investment and bring 400,000 additional visitors to the area each year – all without raising taxes.
