Eureka! Partners With Uncle Nearest for the Whiskey Club’s August Pick

Eureka! is partnering with Uncle Nearest for its highly curated Whiskey Club membership program created for craft spirit connoisseurs. Uncle Nearest Premium Whiskey is inspired by the best whiskey-maker the world never knew, the first known African-American master distiller, Nathan “Nearest” Green. 

The Uncle Nearest brand, wholly owned by Uncle Nearest, Inc., an all minority-led business, encompasses a premium aged whiskey with a blend of 8- to 14- year old, an 11-year-old minimum age single barrel, and a 7-year-old small batch offering, all mellowed using the Lincoln County Process, a unique filtering of bourbon through sugar maple charcoal. This process has been confirmed to have been brought to Tennessee by enslaved people and taught by Nearest Green to the most famous Tennessee Whiskey maker of all time.  

Each month, Eureka!’s expert beverage team selects a featured small-batch, artisanal whiskey to share exclusively with club members and it proudly partners with Uncle Nearest for the month of August. The monthly whiskey selection reflects Eureka!’s commitment to sourcing all-American, premium spirits and encourages guests to widen their spirit library and tasting acumen from home and Eureka! is excited to share such a unique product and highlight its extremely important history with its club members.

In addition to the August discovery box, Eureka!’s Whiskey Club members have an exclusive access to a live class with Uncle Nearest’s Master Blender Victoria Eady Butler, the great-great-granddaughter of Nearest Green, on Tuesday, August 25th. During this live meet & greet, members will learn all about the history of Uncle Nearest, what makes its products unique, have the opportunity to ask questions to Victoria, and learn how to make a curated cocktail with Eureka!’s Senior Beverage Director Trevor Tyler featuring the monthly pick. The whiskey will be paired with complementary bar ingredients, bar accessories, tasting notes, and cocktail recipes created specifically for the Whiskey Club. 

When Eureka! launches the Whiskey Club as its restaurants reopen, all proceeds from the launch is donated to The Conscious Kid, a non-profit organization providing research and resources on parenting and education. This organization is dedicated to reducing racial and socioeconomic bias and promoting positive identity development in youth.

HOW TO BECOME A MEMBER OF THE WHISKEY CLUB:

• Step 2: Select a corresponding local Eureka! location and join
• Step 3: Pick-up the discovery box on the third Thursday of every month (Thursday, August 20th)
• Step 4: Join for the live class on Tuesday, August 25th
