Touring comics Paul Ogata, Kiry Shabazz, Brandt Tobler, Keon Polee and Cory Michaelis will hit the Dragon Room stage, joining the award-winning club’s regular lineup
L.A. Comedy Club has announced a raucous October lineup for the club’s custom new Dragon Room showroom at The STRAT Hotel, Casino & SkyPod. Headlining the club’s 8 p.m. spot are Paul Ogata, Kiry Shabazz, Brandt Tobler, Keon Polee and Cory Michaelis with additional comics to be announced whose combined credits span NBC, Comedy Central, CBS, Fox, ESPN and more. The club’s lineup of popular resident comics includes Happy Hour Variety Show starring Julio Gonzalez at 6 p.m.; comedian Butch Bradley at 10 p.m. Thursday through Monday; and comedian Bret Ernst at 10 p.m. on Tuesday and Wednesday.

The L.A. Comedy Club, dubbed “The younger rebel brother of Improv” by Casino Player Magazine, has been entertaining Las Vegas locals and visitors since 2007. Known as the spot “where comedy comes to party,” the repeat “Best of Las Vegas” gold award winner recently relocated its famed Dragon Room to a custom-built 270-seat showroom on the main casino floor at The STRAT Hotel, Casino & SkyPod.

- 6 p.m. Happy Hour Variety Show starring Julio Gonzalez
Julio Gonzalez, a relative newcomer to the Vegas comedy scene, is known nationwide for his storytelling comedic style using experiences from his life such as weight loss, relationships, society, women and living life to the fullest. Along with his standup career, Gonzalez is known for helping others through his various charity shows and is committed to being the change he wants to see in the world.

- 10 p.m. Thursday through Monday: Butch Bradley
Comedic veteran, Butch Bradley, grew up in Atlantic City, New Jersey and started his comedy career by becoming a founding member of the Boston Improv Troupe. Bradley has been the opening act for comedic legends like Ray Romano, Lewis Black and Cathy Ladman and has appeared on HBO, Comedy Central, has been a regular on “The Late Late Show” and toured festivals such as the Aspen Rooftop Comedy Festival, the Montreal Just for Laughs Comedy Festival and made an appearance as a USO Entertainer. Bradley was named Best Comedian 2020 by “Best of Las Vegas.” Bradley’s comedy special, “Butch Bradley: From Las Vegas” is currently available on Amazon Prime. He can also be seen on the big screen in the upcoming film “Reagan” starring Dennis Quaid.
- 10 p.m. Tuesday and Wednesday: Bret Ernst
Bret Ernst, born and raised in New Jersey, was one of four comedians featured in “Wild West Comedy Show: 30 Days and 30 Nights—Hollywood to the Heartland,” has appeared on television shows like “Comedy Central Presents,” “The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson,” “Weeds” and has a recurring role on Netflix’s hit series, “Cobra Kai.” Ernst’s jokes are rooted in storytelling, giving the audience an inside look at the life of a typical North Jersey Italian kid in the 1980s.

Paul Ogata, born and raised in Pearl City, Hawaii, moved to Los Angeles in 2006 to begin devoting more time to stand-up comedy. In 2004, Ogata won the title of “Funniest Asian-American Comedian in the U.S.” in the TakeOut Comedian Competition and won the prestigious San Francisco International Comedy Competition in 2007. Ogata has been seen on Comedy Central’s “Live at Gotham,” “Comics Unleashed,” CBS’s “Late Late Show” and debuted his stand-up comedy album “Paul Ogata Stands Up: Live in Hong Kong” in February 2010.
· Monday, October 3 through Sunday, October 9: Kiry Shabazz with special guests
Kiry Shabazz, a stand-up comedian from Cleveland, started his comedy journey in Northern California where he won first place at the “Rooster T Feathers Comedy Competition.” Shabazz, now based in Los Angeles, has also won the “World Series of Comedy Satellite Competition,” was selected for the “Laughing Skull Festival” and was named the winner of the “Stand-Up NBC Competition” in 2017. Fresh off his television debut on “The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon,” Shabazz’s comedy has been featured on Comedy Central’s “Stand Up Featuring” series, “Bill Burr Presents: The Ringers” and on the second season of Epix’s “Unprotected Sets.”
· Monday, October 10 through Sunday, October 16: Brandt Tobler with special guests
Brandt Tobler, native to Cheyenne, Wyoming, is a stand-up comedian, author and actor. Tobler is a regular on numerous comedy podcasts, including “Bertcast,” “Crabfeast,” “Your Mom’s House,” “Mohr Sports,” “The Dana Gould Hour,” Ari Shaffir’s “Skeptic Tank” and is currently the host of the award-winning podcast “The 31.” He has also been featured on Comedy Central, Fox and ESPN as well as toured overseas to perform for American troops. His two comedy albums “Token White Boy” and “Ramblin’ and Gamblin’” both reached No. 1 on the iTunes and Amazon charts the week they were released. Tobler was a finalist in Barstool Sports’ “Barstool Idol” contest and was named the “Best-Undiscovered Comedian from Wyoming” by Thrillist in 2018.
· Monday, October 17 through Sunday, October 23: Keon Polee with special guests
Keon Polee, a comedian and actor from the California Bay Area, who honed his comedy skills in San Francisco before moving to Los Angeles. Polee has been featured on television in shows including “We Got Next” on AspireTV, “Laughs” on Fox, “Tony Baker and Friends” on Amazon Prime and “Laff Mob’s Laff Tracks” on TruTV. Having made his way around the world, Polee has performed around the United States and internationally in South Korea, Japan and Canada.
· Monday, October 24 through Sunday October 30: Cory Michaelis with special guests
Cory Michaelis, originally a high school teacher turned comedian, has headlined comedy clubs all over the U.S. and Canada. Michaelis has opened for legendary comedians like Louis Anderson, which led to his recording of his comedy special “Bad Teacher” for DryBarComedy.com which now has more than 25 million views. His first album “The Collage Dropout” debuted at No.1 on the iTunes comedy chart and No.2 on the Billboard comedy chart. Michaelis was a finalist in the “Seattle International Comedy Competition” and a headliner of the “Idago Laugh Fest” in Boise. He recently appeared on season one of the Netflix hit “Huge in France,” and has performed internationally in Karachi, Pakistan and Dubai.
