This Mexican Independence Day Weekend, Grand Canal Shoppes at The Venetian Resort Las Vegas will transform into the ultimate celebration destination featuring must-see events throughout the holiday. Guests will be invited to revel in dynamic cultural performances, riveting live musical sets by Mexican-American artists, a traditional “El Grito” celebration, a gift with purchase and more. The Shoppes will be a must-visit for an unforgettable Mexican Independence Day for every guest.

Ringing in the holiday weekend, Grand Canal Shoppes will host “El Grito,” a Mexican celebration of freedom, in St. Mark’s Square on Thursday, Sept. 15 at 11 p.m. This remarkable celebration will feature a march throughout the destination with an exuberant mariachi band and folkloric dancers.

For guests seeking live music, The Shoppes will host live performances by Kelly Castro and will welcome the return of famed artist and contestant on the Mexican and American versions of “The Voice,” Eli Zamora. As a top-three performer on “La Voz Mexico,” Castro will kick-off the show with her modern Mexican set she is known for, as Zamora returns to the stage with a passionate traditional Mexican Ranchero performance. Making for an unforgettable affair, Zamora and Castro will come together on one stage as they perform a duet as the grand finale. The captivating performances will take place throughout Mexican Independence Day Weekend as the artists delight audiences with their renditions of beloved Mexican songs in celebration of the holiday. Guests can catch their complimentary headlining shows September 15 through 19 at 4:30 p.m. in St. Mark’s Square.

Starting Thursday, Sept. 1, Guests can commemorate the holiday weekend with a photo under the vibrant papel picado, a traditional Mexican decorative craft adorned with elaborate designs.

Lastly, patrons can enjoy more delightful offerings during the month-long celebration with an exclusive gift with purchase and specials at select retailers.
