On Tuesday, November 24, 2020, the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department (LVMPD) Foundation kicked off the season of giving by providing almost 12,000 local residents in need in Southern Nevada with a “Turkey Dinner Basket”.
“We are proud to have formed a partnership with Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield Nevada, Walmart, and Three Square to provide families with a full meal to celebrate Thanksgiving this year,” said Tom Kovach.” Given the increased need of so many people in Southern Nevada as a result of the pandemic, the LVMPD Foundation has significantly increased our funding of the Police Department’s community engagement initiatives this Holiday Season.”
The LVMPD Foundation provided 300 “Turkey Dinner Baskets” to each of the 10 area commands for distribution in their corresponding neighborhoods. Area command officers then distributed “Turkey Dinner Baskets”.
