The City of Henderson will again observe Veterans Day, but this year the ceremony will be virtual. U.S. Congresswoman Susie Lee will join Mayor Debra March and members of City Council to honor those who have defended our nation.
Henderson residents are invited to “attend” this virtual ceremony by visiting cityofhenderson.com all day beginning Wednesday, Nov. 11.
Program highlights include a musical tribute to the Armed Forces, laying of a wreath and the reading of names added to the Veterans Memorial Wall.
The Henderson Veterans Memorial Wall, which remains open to visitors, is located at
240 S. Water St., adjacent to City Hall. Dedicated in 1994, the Veterans Memorial Wall remembers Henderson veterans who have served their country. The names of generations of servicemembers adorn the memorial’s panels: deceased veterans who lived in Henderson prior to 1980; all Vietnam War, Persian Gulf War and Global War on Terror veterans either living or deceased who were Henderson residents at the time of their service; and soldiers killed in action living in Henderson from 1980 to present.
Those who would like to be considered or have someone considered for inclusion on the Henderson Veterans Memorial Wall based upon eligibility, should complete the Veterans Memorial Wall request form and email it to Veterans_COH@cityofhenderson.com. For more information, call 702-267-2406.
