Performances Take Place Friday, Saturday and Sunday from Oct. 1 To 10
Rainbow Company Youth Theatre, a city of Las Vegas program, presents “The Neverending Story” Oct. 1-3 and 8-10 at Charleston Heights Arts Center, 800 S. Brush St. All current COVID-19 safety protocols will be followed; audience members are asked to wear a mask.
This classic adventure follows Bastian, a lonely boy victimized by bullies, who finds a very curious book — “The Neverending Story.” Bastian enters the world of the novel which is being destroyed by The Nothing and ends up the only one that can save it. The production was adapted by David S. Craig based upon the novel by Michael Ende.
In addition to more than 40 cast members, the production features a number of notable creative collaborators including:
- dance choreographer Ginnie Barnson, previously from the Nevada Theater Company’s Children’s Theatre Company at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas;
- costume designer Meda Braker, wardrobe mistress with over 20 years of experience;
- fight choreographer Sean Critchfield, member of the Tournament of Kings at the Excalibur Hotel; and,
- director Joy Demain, founder of Jade Productions.

This is the first Rainbow Company production of the company’s 45th season, which also features “The Velveteen Rabbit,” “Still Life With Iris” and Roald Dahl’s “Matilda the Musical.” Season ticket packages as well as single show tickets are now available.
Showtimes are 7 p.m. Oct. 1, 2, 8 and 9; additional 2 p.m. shows are scheduled Oct. 2, 3, 9 and 10. An American Sign Language interpreter will be available for the hearing impaired at the 2 p.m. performance Oct. 9. Tickets for all performances are priced at $6 inclusive of tax, plus fees.
