Expect 24-Hour Lane Restrictions on Vegas Drive During the Work
Work on Luning Drive between Holly Avenue and Vegas Drive, as well as Vegas Drive east of Simmons Street, and Holly west of Luning, will begin Monday, Aug. 16 (see map). The project will include installation of 48-inch and 54-inch storm drain pipe, manholes, laterals and drop inlets, sidewalks, concrete cross-gutter, median islands, replacement pavement and new traffic markings after the installations on all three streets. Motorists can expect 24-hour lane restrictions in all these streets during the project, which is scheduled for completion by June 2022.
Work hours will be 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday-Friday. At least one travel lane in each direction will be maintained during the project.
Motorists should expect minor delays on Vegas Drive; recommended alternate routes include Lake Mead Boulevard or Washington Avenue for east-west travel.
Harbor Company, Inc. is the contractor. The project is budgeted at $2,351,965 and is funded by the Clark County Regional Flood Control District. Those with questions or concerns during the work should call 702-334-5936.
