The Lights went to Las Positas College Football Stadium, Livermore, California, to take on the newest team in the USL, Oakland Roots.
Las Vegas got off to a fast start but the Root’s goalkeeper came up big with 2 saves before Oakland was able to score the first and only goal of the first half.
The multiple Lights’ efforts to score came to fruition as captain, Danny Crisostomo, scored the equalizing goal in the 55th minute.
The Lights continued to press the Roots goalkeeper, but he stood strong until Tony Leone was able to connect for the game-winning goal following a corner.
