Jardin Premium Cannabis Partners with the Buried Alive Project to Amplify Minority Voices This Juneteenth

The Announcement Comes Just Days After Juneteenth Was Established as a Federal Holiday

Jardín Premium Cannabis Dispensary is partnering with The Buried Alive Project to help raise awareness surrounding people of color serving draconian sentences due to outdated federal drug laws. The announcement comes just days after the Biden administration signed a bill indicating Juneteenth as a national holiday. On Sat., June 19, a portion of the proceeds sold will be donated back to the charity to assist with litigation fees for people of color who have been directly impacted by the criminal legal system. The nonprofit has assisted over 50 individuals thus far who were facing life sentences with no parole.

“We built a foundation of respect, equality and opportunity for both our employees and our community, therefore the history of the cannabis industry does not go unnoticed where we recognize that the criminal justice system has failed to progress alongside the sweeping nationwide reform of cannabis laws,” said Semii Gebreyonas, Director of Marketing at Jardín when asked about why this initiative is important to her. “We are seeking to challenge the inequity and change the way the US criminalizes minor drug use and possession, which ensnares far too many people, disproportionately minorities, in the criminal justice system. We are proud to lend our support to the Buried Alive Project on their daily fight for freedom.”

Shoppers can visit the storefront during regular business hours, shop online or order via curbside to enjoy the medical and recreational offerings that the dispensary has to showcase, including edibles, flower, concentrates, vapes, topicals and CBD. A portion of each sale will be automatically applied to the fund, allowing shoppers to feel good about their purchase while raising awareness for an overlooked issue.
