The 27th annual Power of Love Gala, held at the MGM Grand Garden Arena on May 10th, was a night of music, philanthropy, and raising awareness for brain health research.
Country Music Star Honored: Blake Shelton received the Lou Ruvo Philanthropic Award for his charitable work. A star-studded lineup performed tributes, including renditions of Shelton’s hits by Andy Grammer, Kristin Chenoweth, Mickey Guyton, Gary LeVox, and Cassadee Pope. Gwen Stefani joined Shelton for a closing duet.
Fighting for a Cure: The gala raised funds for the Cleveland Clinic Lou Ruvo Center for Brain Health. Larry Ruvo highlighted the center’s achievements, including 300,000 patient visits, pioneering programs for women’s Alzheimer’s prevention and caregiving support, and being a Center of Excellence for multiple sclerosis, Parkinson’s, and Alzheimer’s.
Personal Stories of Impact: Celebrities like Meredith Marks, Crystal Minkoff, Cassadee Pope, and Deniece Williams shared personal stories about how brain diseases have affected their families.
A Night of Celebration and Giving: Guests enjoyed gourmet cuisine, a dazzling dessert display, and heartwarming tributes for Mother’s Day weekend. A lively auction offered unique experiences, with Shelton himself winning a movie role.
This event showcased the power of celebrity and community in supporting critical brain health research.
