Pioneer Saloon to Host 25th Annual Breastfest Benefiting Breast Cancer Research Foundation, Aims to Raise Over $25K

World-famous Pioneer Saloon is set to host BreastFest, a day of festivities and fundraising benefiting breast cancer research on Saturday, June 22, noon to 10:00 p.m. BreastFest is an annual music-based charity event organized to raise awareness and funds for the Breast Cancer Research Foundation. The free event features top Las Vegas live bands donating their talents for this important cause.

Now in its 25th year, BreastFest originated in Los Angeles in 1999 by Pioneer Saloon owner Stephen Staats when his mom was diagnosed with breast cancer.
“BreastFest started when I found out my mom was diagnosed with breast cancer, so it’s very personal to me and my family. I wanted to do something to help, so I contacted my musician friends and created this benefit to raise money for breast cancer research”, said Staats.
When Staats purchased the Pioneer Saloon, he knew it would be a great place to relocate the annual event. Last year’s event featured volunteer entertainers ranging from musicians to hula dancers. Over $21,000 was raised for BCRF, the largest private funder of breast cancer research.
This year, organizers are hoping to celebrate 25 years by raising over $25,000 through silent auctions, raffles, bottle pulls, individual donations, corporate sponsors, and beneficiary matches.
The event begins at noon and is free and open to all ages. Along with inspirational stories from breast cancer survivors, guests can enjoy a variety of entertainment including music from some of the top Las Vegas bands. The Pioneer Saloon is also offering a limited number of spots for local comedians, magicians and similar acts who would like to donate their time and talent for this important cause. In addition to title sponsors Raising Cane’s Chicken Fingers, Levi Strauss & Co, Tiger Law, Comprehensive Cancer Centers, EagleRider, and Adrenaline Mountain, several popular local establishments have donated goods or services for raffle prizes and events. Donors include Home Plate Grill & Bar, Rusty Spur, Blue Diamond Saloon, Tractor Supply & Co, Aliens in Pahrump Candy, and Black Obsidian Ink.
