Substrata Says Pandemic Changed Process but Hasn’t Halted Hiring

Henderson-based biochemical manufacturing company looking for warehouse assistants 

While the COVID-19 pandemic has slowed and even stopped hiring for some industries, biochemical manufacturing company Substrata reports it has grown during the pandemic.

“Fortunately, through the pandemic, we’ve grown quite a bit, but that’s also made hiring a very challenging thing for us,” said Royal Marty, CEO of Substrata. “First thing, we ask for a video from the applicant, so we want to know a little bit about you.”

Substrata job candidates receive a demo kit so they can formulate a pitch and present ideas for how to further the company’s products. 

Marty said, so far, only about 10 percent of applicants have followed through on sending the video.

Although the hiring process may look different due to the pandemic, Marty said Substrata hasn’t slowed hiring and is currently looking to fill many positions including roles in sales, marketing, and warehouse assistants.
