The Association of Fundraising Professionals (AFP) proudly announces its annual awards luncheon set to take place in Las Vegas on Tuesday, November 14, 2023, from 11 AM to 1:30 PM at the esteemed Westgate Hotel and Resort Ballroom located at 3000 Paradise Rd, Las Vegas, NV 89109.
The event, in its 32nd year, unites distinguished individuals who have dedicated their lives and careers to the philanthropic sector.
Among the notable organizations participating in this philanthropic event is the National Football League Alumni Association (NFLA), an entity boasting a legacy of over 50 years in giving back to communities. By leveraging the influence of retired professional football players, cheerleaders, dedicated volunteers, and passionate fans, the NFL Alumni Association achieves outreach through its two programs: Caring for Kids and Caring for Community.
On November 14, 2023, AFP will host the esteemed National Philanthropy Day, a significant occasion commemorating the profound impact of charitable fundraising and the invaluable contributions of philanthropists to our society. This day stands as a tribute to the generosity of volunteers, donors, corporations, foundations, charities, and fundraisers, whose collective efforts culminate in an extraordinary sum of nearly $500 billion across North America.
The collaboration between NFLA-LV and AFP Las Vegas stands as a testament to the shared vision of both organizations – a vision of transforming the Las Vegas community. NFLA-LV, under the exemplary leadership of President Morlon Greenwood, has consistently led the charge in community engagement, giving back, and making a lasting difference.
Kathleen Frantz, the current President of AFP Las Vegas Chapter, expressed her enthusiasm, stating, “We are honored by the NFL Alumni Association Las Vegas Chapter’s support. Their commitment to the nonprofit sector is essential to the continued success and growth of our beautiful Southern Nevada communities.”
Morlon Greenwood, local NFL Alumni President and former NFL defensive player, expressed his gratitude, stating, “For over 50 years, the NFL Alumni has been able to achieve its goals off the field and directly in the communities we serve because of the people like the members and governing body of this organization. We thank them for the hard work that they do daily to fundraise for countless organizations and to recognize our body of work as the one to receive this honor.”
This collaborative endeavor underscores the potential to create a lasting impact on the Las Vegas community. NFLA-LV and AFP Las Vegas warmly invite the community, supporters of philanthropy, and champions of social change to join them in celebrating National Philanthropy
