Famed Orange County Chef to welcome guests to a sneak peek showcasing a variety of Ai Pono Café’s Hawaii Street Food menu items on June 10 and 11 in anticipation of the resort’s opening later this year
Ai Pono Café, soon to open at Durango Casino & Resort’s highly anticipated food hall Eat Your Heart Out, will host a pop-up dining event featuring iconic owner, Chef Gene Villiatora at Red Rock Casino Resort & Spa on Saturday, June 10 and Sunday, June 11.
Beginning at noon each day, the unique culinary experience will welcome guests to preview a number of menu items from the popular Orange County eatery and have the opportunity to meet the “Top Chef” alum himself.
Aiming to reintroduce authentic Hawaii street food to the community, the famed Chef will be making his way back to Las Vegas as he expands with his first-to-Las Vegas location coming to the all-new resort.
Ahead of the opening later this year, guests can expect to embark on a gastronomical adventure during the pop-up event as Chef Gene will serve up signature items from the café’s menu including:
- Pimpers Paradise made with crab stuffed soft shell crab and spicy ahi.
- Crackhead Chicken made with 24-hour marinated chicken in chef’s secret batter with garlic coconut miso glaze.
- “STFO” and Eat! made with spicy ahi roll, Korean short rib and crackhead chicken.
- Da “Dr-Hi” Min Noodz which is Chef’s version of fried noodles.
- Da Roots-Rock Reggae made with Korean short rib, ahi katsu and shoyu ahi poke.
- Da Side Chick which is Chef’s version of the spicy chicken sando.
- Guava Chili Pepper Fried Chicken which will knock you off you’re a**.
