A Morning of Fun, Refreshments and Giveaways
The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department (LVMPD) Foundation, LVMPD and UNLV Early Outreach Program will host a Youth Track & Field competition open to girls and boys, grades 3-5.
Students will compete individually in the 40-, 50- and 60-yard dash, and medals will be awarded. All levels of runners are welcome.
Officers from LVMPD Area Commands, North Las Vegas Police Department, and Henderson Police Department organize the track & field competitions to promote good sportsmanship, athletic skill, accountability, discipline, teamwork, and goal setting.
LVMPD Area Commands will be represented by a neighborhood school and serve as official referees. Complimentary jerseys will be distributed to participants along with free refreshments and giveaways!
FREE to participate. Sign up at UNLV Early Outreach on Instagram: “It’s back! Is your student interested in track & field? Law enforcement? College readiness? Register your 3rd-5th grader today! #lvmpd…”
The LVMPD Foundation initiative allows LVMPD officers to cultivate strong positive relationships with participants, most of whom reside in lower socio-economic areas of the valley.
The goal is to foster inclusiveness and good citizenship through participation in athletic programs.
