New showroom will be home to resident headliner Byron Kennedy plus rising comedians and musicians
Last Friday night, the new Vegas Stand Up & Rock, located inside OYO Hotel & Casino just steps from the Las Vegas Strip, celebrated its grand opening with a VIP party inside of the new showroom, featuring performances by headlining comic Byron Kennedy and rising country music star Jordan Harvey.
Hilarious comedians Michael Robertson and Carlos Anthony had the audience in stitches ahead of Kennedy, who is Vegas Stand Up & Rock’s resident comic, who had the crowd roaring with laughter. Harvey, who has opened for Garth Brooks and performed on “Jimmy Kimmel LIVE!,” “The Late Late Show with James Corden,” “TODAY,” and “The Kelly Clarkson Show,” followed after the comedians with a live performance.
Vegas Stand Up & Rock co-owners and producers, Joaquin Trujillo and Matt Chavez welcomed guests and were joined on the red carpet by Kennedy and Harvey. Butch Bradley, resident comedian at L.A. Comedy Club at The STRAT Hotel, Casino & SkyPod, and the stunning cast of FANTASY, the award-winning female revue at Luxor Hotel & Casino, were on hand to celebrate the grand opening. Also present to commemorate the new showroom were executives from international record label BMG as well as Jonah Ritter, general manager of OYO Hotel & Casino Las Vegas.
During the festivities, comedians Robertson and Anthony opened the comedy show, followed by Vegas Stand Up & Rock’s resident comedian Byron Kennedy, who hosts the showroom’s nightly Nash Vegas show. The evening gave the crowd a taste of what Vegas Stand Up & Rock offers audiences – high-caliber stand-up comedy and live music in a showroom with a full bar and cool vibe.
Vegas Stand Up & Rock is the second venue from Vegas JEM, the production company behind the award-winning L.A. Comedy Club at The STRAT. Now open to the public, Vegas Stand Up & Rock hosts a nationally touring comedian nightly at 7 p.m. and every Friday and Saturday night for the 9 p.m. show, Byron Kennedy and Friends take the stage to share their hilarious experiences from the road with a quick-wit and approachable storytelling style.
The 4,000-square-foot, multi-level showroom is built with the audience’s view of the stage in mind. Capable of entertaining up to 230 guests, a variety of seating arrangements include booths and traditional showroom seating near the stage in addition to high-tops and booths near the bar for a lounge feel.
The showroom offers a full-service bar where guests can order drinks before and during shows. Tickets are priced at $29.95 for general admission and $39.95 for VIP admission, plus tax and services. Stand Up & Rock also offers a “$25 All You Can Drink Special,” serving a premium well and keeps the drinks coming during the show, as well as a ticket discount for locals. In addition, the showroom will host Laugh After Dark LIVE in Las Vegas, from the award-winning hit series “Laugh After Dark” on Amazon Prime and Tubi at 9 p.m. on Sundays, starting Sunday, Feb. 19.
