Continuing their dedication to lifelong support for all members of the adoption triad – birth and adoptive parents and adoptees – Loving Hearts Adoption Services announced the launch of its Birthparent Support Group, an emotional support resource for those that have placed their child for adoption in the past.
Starting on Monday, Feb. 15, the monthly meeting led by a Loving Hearts Adoption Services staff member, will join virtually and is open to anyone that has placed their child for adoption, regardless of the adoption agency they utilized. The support group will provide a safe, confidential space for birthparents to talk and share their adoption experiences with others that have gone through a similar journey. Any birthparent interested in participating must RSVP on Loving Hearts’ site.
“Placing a child for adoption is one of the most selfless acts a birthparent can do, but the process can be emotionally painful,” said Alexandra Hoops, Director of Adoptions, Loving Hearts Adoption Services. “The launch of the birthparent support group will bring a sense of connectivity and community, furthering our commitment to supporting everyone in the adoption triad.”
Loving Hearts offers an array of adoptive services including assistance for: open, semi-open or closed adoptions for babies; living and medical assistance for birthparents; counseling and support groups; lifelong support to all clients; reunification procedures; and additional referrals and resources as applicable.
