California staple puts down roots in Chinatown
The much-anticipated premium all-you-can-eat Korean barbeque restaurant, Mr BBQ, is now open at 4240 Spring Mountain Road in the heart of Chinatown.
This is the second location of the Fullerton, Calif. staple, known for its line of guests wrapping out the door each night.
Mr BBQ is open daily from 11 a.m. to 1 a.m., offering premium AYCE lunch and dinner. The menu includes traditional authentic Korean barbeque dishes, however, the restaurant uses only USDA-graded, steakhouse-quality beef, standing apart from other AYCE restaurants.
A variety of beer, wine, Korean spirits, and soju complements the menu.
Located next to the bustling Shanghai Plaza in a 3,500-square-foot space with 200 seats, Mr BBQ can easily be seen along Spring Mountain Road, with neon lights and lively character mascots welcoming guests at the door.
Owner Jenny Chai says, “I’m excited to be in Vegas, and particularly in this neighborhood. I love how Chinatown has emerged into a foodie destination and that there are so many different cuisines from different cultures.”
Chai is following in her mother’s footsteps, a restaurateur in Orange County for more than 30 years. After starting in the restaurant industry in high school, Chai opened the original Mr BBQ, winning numerous accolades and recognition in the Southern California food scene with secret family recipes using only top-tier ingredients.
“My mother was a hard-working immigrant, and I’ve watched her work her way up through the years, so I’m proud to carry the torch forward in our family business and legacy,” said Chai.
